The Northern Virginia Housing Expo is a free, public showcase of information, resources, education and individual financial guidance for first-time buyers and renters throughout Northern Virginia. Following 10 years of in-person events, the expo went virtual in June of 2020 and currently features an exhibit hall, regular webinars, and the opportunity to sign up for free one-on-one financial coaching sessions with certified volunteer trainers from local nonprofits.
Over its 14 years, the expo has gained an outstanding reputation as a credible and helpful resource, as its reach has continued to grow from the several hundred people who would attend the live expo to the hundreds of thousands of visits the virtual version has since received.
Steering Committee
The expo is a collaborative effort of federal, state and local agencies with key Northern Virginia housing groups, led by Expo Manager Laura Nickle and with First Home Alliance, a Woodbridge-based nonprofit, as its fiscal agent. The expo steering committee includes dedicated representatives from the following organizations and continues to expand strategically to embrace other key housing organizations from the region:
